Since we signed a lease so late and the tenants wanted to move in so soon, we only have 6 days to pack for a year and organise the house for storage. Not a lot of time.
I am organising myself and the girls which is taking 2-3 hours for each of us. The girls are deliberating over which bath bombs, washi tape, pop vinyls and origami paper to pack, what to store and what to throw away.
It’s interesting to see their different personalities come through in this thought process. Although I have suggested storing it all, donating to charity or giving to friends, these are their comfort items and they keep coming up with good reasons to add things to the cases…it reminds them of a certain outing, person or memory.
For myself I am finding the process quite soothing, going through every item of clothing, jewellery, everything bit of makeup and toiletries I own and deliberating on what to take, store, donate and throw away. I want to make sure what I store is what I want to keep and everything else is donated or binned.
After much deliberation I have decided to store Thermie, my trusted thermomix. Although I will have lots of time for hobbies and cooking is one of them, I’m going old school by hand as I’ll have the time to enjoy the process. Ben is still considering bringing the playstation and Hayley is trying to convince us she needs not only her trombone but also a trumpet from Sydney.
Aaahhh…look at that calendar below that goes from 10-12 things a day to completely clear. Cannot wait!
